"Silk Road Economic Belt Cities International Forum" to be Held in Yiwu

The "Silk Road Economic Belt Cities International Forum" themed on "Promote Connectivity and Co-build Trade Prosperity" is going to be held in Yiwu during Nov. 14 -- 15. Then, more than 300 guests will get together in Yiwu, including many former foreign senior politicians, leaders of relevant central ministries and commissions, officials of the embassies and consulates of countries along the "One Belt, One Road" in China, experts, scholars, and business representatives, to discuss the new construction course of "One Belt, One Road" related to trade prosperity. Last night, the preliminary meeting of the Forum was held in the meeting room in Administrative Building 7 and attended by city leaders Ge Guoqing and Chen Xiaozhong.

It was reported that the "Silk Road Economic Belt Cities International Forum" themed on "Unimpeded Trade and Common Prosperity" held in Yiwu last year didn't only elevate the international status of Yiwu but also accelerated the construction of "One Belt, One Road" through giving play to the unique role of Sino-Europe trains, such as trains of “Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe” Railway, in the establishment of big channel of international logistics.

During the Forum this year, three theme forums will be held, i.e., Coordinated Development and Future Prospect of International Pivot Trading Cities, Cross-border Trade Cooperation and Trade Facilitation under the New Situation, and International Talents' Training and Yiwu's Future. The guests participating in the Forum will have in-depth communications on these themes and discuss the establishment of a cooperative network of pivot trading cities so as to enable the people of all countries to share the global prosperity.

At the preliminary meeting, relevant principal of the Management Committee of Silk Road New Area reported the preparations of the Forum in detail, and all department concerned made mutual communications and exchanges about the plan for next preparations. After listening to the report, the city leaders raised specific requirements for the following work. First of all, all personnel of relevant departments should pay high attention to the significance of the Forum, and the entire city should work together and go all out for the proper preparations for the Forum. Next, the reception process should be refined, taking into account every detail, to make the guests feel at home. Finally, security work should be enhanced to ensure the smooth holding of the Forum.
